Activity Details
Purpose: To understand how the human ear locates the origin of a sound.
Target Grades: K-12
Activity: Students work in pairs, with one clapping and the other locating the clapper by pointing in their direction. The listening student is blindfolded for the first round, and for the second round, they are blindfolded, and modeling clay is put in their ears. The listener compares the difficulty of locating the clapper under both conditions.
